The Bill Einreinhofer Collection contains Betacam tapes, CDs, and DVDs made during the production of two television shows produced by Einreinhofer related to China, most notably So Very Far From Home, a documentary about people interned in Japanese-run internment camps in China during World War II. The collection is divided into two series, Beyond Beijing (2008) and So Very Far From Home (2005-2007).
Series I, Beyond Beijing, contains video from Beyond Beijing, a documentary mini-series produced by Einreinhofer that looked at the six Chinese cities other than Beijing that were selected to host events in the 2008 Summer Olympics games. Materials in the series focus on Shanghai and Tianjin (Tientsin).
Series II, So Very Far From Home, contains production video and other materials for a documentary produced, directed and written by Einreinhofer. So Very Far From Home focuses on the stories of five Old China Hands who as children were placed into internment camps in China by the occupying Japanese, and their remembrances of China and World War II.
