Scope and Contents: The California Gold Rush Correspondence Collection includes letters discussing business and travel in California during the gold rush from various goldminers to family and friends written between 1853 and 1863. The collection includes letters sent to Boston, Massachusetts, Redwing, Minnesota, Fort Fairfield, Maine, and Ottwumwa, Ohio, as well as several locations in California.
