Nina Shestakoff Collection
Scope and Contents
The Nina Shestakoff Collection consists of copies of photographs and photocopied family albums from the family's life in China during the 1930s and 1940s, along with descriptions of the photographs provided by Shestakoff. Also included in the collection is a painting done by Shestakoff of the Pei-Yu-Shan lighthouse off the China coast, where her father was the lighthouse keeper.

Biographical Information:
Nina (Deniakin) Shestakoff was born in 1919, and moved to Shanghai from Russia with her family, where her father worked as a lighthouse keeper for multiple lighthouses in China. Shestakoff attended boarding school at both the St. Joseph Convent and the St. Francis School for Girls. She married Alex Shestakoff and eventually settled in California before her death in 2013.
