Scope and Contents

The Lillian and Herbert Palmer Collection consists of 19 prints of engravings by or in the style of the famous artist William Hogarth. This includes engravings done by Hogarth and his assistant Luke Sullivan, as well as later engravings done by various artists that were modeled after paintings by Hogarth.

William Hogarth was a famous English painter, printmaker, satirist and editorial cartoonist who lived during the early 18th century. The collection consists of 19 prints of engravings by or in the style of Hogarth, including the full series, A Harlot’s Progress.
