Scope and Contents

The Detective E. B. Mortensen Daily Reports Collection consists of the reports of cases assigned and daily activities submitted by Officer E. B. Mortensen to Police Captain George K. Home. Daily entries include the date, time he reported for duty, locations around Los Angeles he visited throughout the day, and the time he left work. Where appropriate, depending on the day, Mortensen also included the number of interviews he conducted, arrests he made, reports he filed, calls he made, and the amount, in dollars, of stolen property he recovered. The collection consists of four volumes, dated 1924, 1926, 1928, and 1929, each of which includes a name index.
