The collection is divided into two series: Tom Reilly Interviews (1949-2011), and Stephanie Bluestein Interviews (2020-2021).
Series I, Tom Reilly Interviews, consists of interviews conducted or supervised by Dr. Tom Reilly of the CSUN Journalism Department. Series II, Stephanie Bluestein Interviews, consists of interviews conducted for course credit by students enrolled in the CSUN freshman orientation class, University 100, and supervised by CSUN journalism professor Stephanie Bluestein. Interviews were conducted with retired local-area journalists via Zoom in the fall of 2020 and 2021, and are arranged alphabetically by the last name of the person being interviewed.

Abstract
The Southern California Journalism Oral History Project Collection began in the mid-1970s. CSUN journalism professor Dr. Tom Reilly organized the project to preserve the day-to-day experiences of working journalists, particularly people who were not likely to write books about or maintain extensive diaries or other records of their careers. In 2020, the collection was expanded to include interviews with retired members of local media conducted by students of CSUN journalism professor Stephanie Bluestein.
