Cities of Destiny Oral History Project Collection

 Collection
Identifier: URB-CDOH

Scope and Contents

The Cities of Destiny Oral History Project interviewed immigrants and minorities in Los Angeles. These histories document interviewees life experiences, including their early years in their native country, their journey to the United States, and their impressions of their new home country. Interviewers for the project were students taking Liberal Arts 196 at Cal State Northridge during the Spring semester of 1982. The interviews were originally recorded onto audiocassettes and transcribed. The Mary Oda and Henry Silver audiocassettes were either damaged or their contents inaudible, which is reflected in the shortened transcripts and digitized interviews. The collection is arranged alphabetically by last name of interviewee.
