The College of Humanities Records consist of materials produced by the college and its previous iterations throughout CSUN's history. Records include materials from the Dean's Office as well as from various departments and programs within the college and include correspondence, curriculum requests, and program reviews. Materials from the Chicana/o Studies Department and MEChA are particularly well represented. The Records are organized into fourteen series: Office of the Dean (1963-2007), American Indian Studies Program (1983), Asian American Studies Department (1992-1999), Chicana and Chicano Studies Department (1960-2011), English Department (1974-2000), Gender and Women's Studies Department (1973-2000), Humanities Interdisciplinary Program (1978-1997), Jewish Studies Interdisciplinary Program (1983-1999), Liberal Studies Program (1978-1988), Linguistics Department (1979-1987), Modern and Classical Languages and Literature Department (1974-1997), Philosophy Department (1977-1998), Queer Studies Program(2024), and Religious Studies Department(1972-1998).

Series I, Office of the Dean, consists of materials relating to College-wide business and events and has been separated into two subseries: Correspondence (1970-1999) arranged chronologically, and General Office Files (1963-2007), including meeting minutes, budget information, curriculum proposals, and information regarding departments within the College, which is arranged alphabetically by subject.

Series II, American Indian Studies Program, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the program.

Series III, Asian American Studies Department, is a small series consisting of records produced by and or for the faculty, staff, and students of the department and consists solely of event fliers.

Series IV, Chicana and Chicano Studies Department, consists of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the Chicana/o Studies Department and had been divided into four subseries: General Files (1966-2011), Chicano/Latino Issues (1960-1994), Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán (ME.Ch.A) (1970-2001), and Resource Library (1970-1994). General Files consists of department-wide issues and initiatives such as Chicano House. Chicano/Latino Issues includes materials of interest to the department including immigration and the National Association for Chicano Studies. Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán (ME.Ch.A) includes materials from the Chicana Information Center, meeting minutes, and the Youth Leadership Conference. The Resource Library materials consists of several, mostly Spanish language publications on a variety of topics. Each subseries is arranged alphabetically.

Series V, English Department, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for faculty and staff of the English Department. Items include meeting minutes and program information and are arranged alphabetically.

Series VI, Gender and Women’s Studies Department, consists of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the Gender and Women’s Studies Department. Of particular interest are the materials regarding the departmentalization of the Women's Studies Program. This series is arranged alphabetically.

Series VII, Humanities Interdisciplinary Program, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the program and consists almost entirely of program studies and reports.

Series VIII, Jewish Studies Interdisciplinary Program, is a small series consisting of records produced by and or for the faculty, staff, and students of the program and consist primarily of event fliers.

Series IX, Liberal Studies Program, is a small series consisting of records produced by and or for the faculty, staff, and students of the program and primarily consist of materials from the National Endowment of the Humanities Liberal Arts Project.

Series X, Linguistics Department, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the department and consists almost entirely of materials regarding the program's review.

Series XI, Modern and Classical Languages and Literature Department, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the department and consists of materials relating to curriculum, events, and faculty.

Series XII, Philosophy Department, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the department and consists of materials relating to curriculum, events, and program review.

Series XIII, Queer Studies Program, is a small series consisting of bilingual English/Spanish digital flyers produced for a Queer Studies Program event. Series XIV, Religious Studies Department, is a small series consisting of records produced by and for the faculty, staff, and students of the department and primarily consists of materials relating to curriculum and program review.
