The Captain Forrest G. Houlehan Scrapbook contains photographs, postcards, newspaper clippings, typed letters and other ephemera that document Houlehan's life from World War I up until the beginning of World War II in 1941. The World War I-related materials consist of photographs Houlehan took of Camp Douglas, Wisconsin. There are many documents related to Houlehan's work after World War I at car dealerships in Wisconsin and Illinois, and as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp commander. Correspondence and business cards from the 1920s and early 1930s document his work at car dealerships. Photographs, correspondence, and newspaper clippings document his work during the Great Depression as commander of the 3121st Company at Camp Sturgeon River in Waucedah, Michigan. Many materials were loosely tucked in the scrapbook. The items attached to the scrapbook pages are primarily comprised of newspaper clippings related to his Civilian Conservation Corps work, including an issue of CCC newsletter Reveille. The scrapbook was disassembled, but pages and loose items are foldered in original order.
