Abstract
Dorothea "Granny" Heitz enrolled at San Fernando Valley State College (now California State University, Northridge or CSUN) in the 1960s as a 53 year old student. In 1966 she formed a group called the Granny Girls, a spirit squad and unofficial ambassadors for the school; their goal, to promote a spirt of friendship and camaraderie.
