Scope and Contents
The Ludmilla Debs Collection contains two photographs of Ludmilla in Tiensin, her school honor roll certificates from 1939 and 1940, her Pervaya Rossiskaya Gymnazia diploma from 1945, and a biography written by her oldest daughter, Genie Debs Shuda.

Biographical / Historical
Ludmilla Debs (née Hodireff) was born in 1927 in Harbin, China. Her family moved to China from eastern Russia after the Russian Revolution in 1918. Debs attended Pervaya Rossiskaya Gymnazia high school in Tientsin, graduating in 1945. She and her family left China after the Chinese Communist takeover in 1949. They temporarily lived in the Philippines before settling in the United States in 1950. Ludmilla passed away on June 9, 2013.
