Civil War Correspondence Collection
Scope and Contents
The Civil War Correspondence Collection contains twelve letters written by the Kelsey family and other families and friends before and during the Civil War, circa 1859 to 1864. Willard Kelsey served in the 128th Ohio Infantry Regiment and wrote from Johnson's Island and Sandusky in Ohio. Letters were also written by Martha E. Riblet, Nancy Brown, G. W. Kelsey, E. W. Smith, and Reynaldo C. E. Dodge from such locations as Cleveland and Brownhelm (Ohio), Litchfield (Michigan), Dubuque (Iowa), and Livingston (New York).
