Charles McHaney China Marines Photograph Collection
Scope and Contents
The Charles McHaney China Marines Photograph Collection consists of photographs, some of which were pasted into albums, taken by McHaney while stationed in Tientsin following World War II. Subjects include his fellow Marines, local geography, and local culture. The collection also includes a menu for the Press Cafe in Tientsin, and a publication produced by the United States Marines Corps, which contains pictures and narrative regarding surrender of Japanese in China, as well as Marine establishment in China following surrender. McHaney, when donating materials, made a recording with archives staff describing the photographs and other donated items in detail, which has been placed in the collection as well.
