David LaBriere Freedom Rally Photograph Collection

Abstract

In May 1963, David LaBriere was a white college student from Ohio visiting Los Angeles. On May 26, he attended and photographed the Freedom Rally, a large civil rights rally and fundraising event, at Wrigley Field in South-Central L.A. The collection contains 14 slides and 10 images from 35mm negative film.

The collection consists of a fieri facias writ of execution issued in Lawrence County, Alabama in 1860, which commands any state sheriff to seize the sum of two thousand dollars in court ordered damages from a number of debtors.
