A Submariner's Album in the Far East

Abstract

This photograph album documents the experiences of a British submariner aboard the HMS L4 between 1922 and 1923. The album contains nearly 150 photographs with handwritten descriptions, including more than fifty images of Hong Kong,with a sequence of photographs depicting celebrations for the Prince of Wales visit in 1922, a group of images related to the King's birthday, and many street scenes.

It operated under the Sierra-Cahuenga District of the California Federation of Women's Clubs, an affiliate of the international General Federation of Women's Clubs.
