World War II V-Mail Collection
The collection consists of 12 V-mail letters written to and collected by George “Geo” Hennessey between 1943 and 1944. The letters are written to both Geo and his wife, Peg, who were living in Brooklyn, New York at the time. The correspondents include Peg’s brothers Lyle Claussen, Harry Claussen and an undecipherable name that could be “Kermit” Claussen, as well as Imrie Anderson. The letters discuss daily life in the war as well as commentary on news from the homefront.

The Ralph J. Wyatt California Missions Lantern Slides contains lantern slides of California Missions taken by Pasadena photographer Ralph J. Wyatt, and used as educational aids in Santa Monica City Schools.
Richard Wyatt Collection
Richard Wyatt lived in China during the 1930s, and was an active member of the Boy Scouts Association in Shanghai. As part of the Seventh Shanghai Rovers troop, Wyatt became one of the most highly decorated Scouts in Shanghai troop history, earning the highest level of badges available to Scouts at that time. The collection consists of the shirt from Wyatt’s Boy Scout uniform, which also includes the numerous badges and cords awarded to Wyatt.
Ruth Shaw Wylie Music Scores Collection
Ruth Shaw Wylie was a flautist, pianist, professor, and composer. During her career she composed over 50 pieces of music including ballet, chamber, piano, choral, and orchestral works. The collection consists of working drafts, master sheets, and performance scores of nearly all her compositions.

Amos C. Young Collection
Amos C. Young, a resident of Portland, Maine, was a relative of Civil War Veteran George H. Young. His journals and account book date from 1856-1869. The collection also includes advertising materials.
George H. Young Diaries
George H. Young was a U.S. Civil War volunteer, and relative of Amos C. Young. Following the war, he migrated to and settled in Yuba County, California. The diaries he authored document his time fighting in the Civil War, and the years immediately following the war, including his westward travel and settlement in Yuba County.
Patrick Young Collection
Patrick Young was a member of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Reserve during World War II and was interned by the Japanese Army during his service. Consisting mainly of newsletters dedicated to the experiences of military personnel in Asia during WWII, the Patrick Young Collection also includes personal accounts of China collected by Young and a small selection of articles on the topics of Shanghai and World War II-era prisoners of war.
