Emanuel Haldeman-Julius Little Blue Books Collection
Emanuel Haldeman-Julius, a newspaper publisher, opened a publishing house in Girard, Kansas, where he published small, inexpensive paperback books, including classic works of literature and essays on myriad topics, for the working and middle classes. The publications in the Little Blue Books Collection are arranged by number from 1 to 1914. Gaps in the numbering usually indicate missing titles.

This includes his daily work as a police officer, and his engagement with significant moments in late 20th century Los Angeles history, including the 1984 Olympics, the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
R. H. B. Hammond-Chambers Logbook Collection
R. H. B. Hammond-Chambers served on the H.M.S. Royal Arthur, H.M.S. Plyades, H.M.S. Blake, and H.M.S. Duke of Wellington in the region of Australia and New Zealand in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He kept these logbooks, dated November 4, 1897 to February 15, 1900 and February 15, 1901 to August 15, 1901 during his service.
