Abstract

The Lee C. Schlegel World War II Collection documents the experiences of United States Army soldier, Lee Cyrus Schegel, whose enlistment period spanned the first three years of United States involvement in World War II. The collection consists of approximately two-hundred photographic prints, a scrapbook, two diaries, and a small amount of personal papers.

Eric J. Schmidt taught at the Shanghai American School and was interned by the Japanese in the Chapei camp outside of Shanghai during World War II. The collection contains drawings and photographs depicting life at Chapei camp, an oral history interview with Schmidt, and scenes filmed in Shanghai and the surrounding area post-World War II.

John M. Sell Civil War Collection

Abstract John M. Sell of Erie, Pennsylvania enlisted in the 83rd Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers July 29, 1861. He was commissioned First Lieutenant on August 27 and promoted to Captain on September 4 the following year.
