Mahala E. Emler, of Coshocton and Cambridge, Ohio, kept a diary from 1943 to 1967 in which she describes her daily routines, events, marriages, births, her local community, and events of national significance including the conclusion of World War II and the Kennedy assassination. Entries are relatively brief, written in a set of five-year diaries. Though she occasionally missed a day for hospital visits and other exceptional events, she was a fairly consistent diarist.

The Ethical Culture Society of Los Angeles Collection includes an assemblage of addresses, newsletters, and printed material from various Ethical Culture Society regional chapters and its parent organization, The American Ethical Union. The material covers social and political topics on a national and global scale in the philosophical context of the humanist movement.

Len Evans (1943-2003) was an historian and collector who wrote several articles and chronologies discussing the history of homosexuality in the United States and in Mexico. The collection helps to document that history within the United States and consists of information compiled as part of the Gay History Project in San Francisco (ca. 1983-1984) and Mr. Evans' collection of "Physique" Art and Photography.

The Ewer Travel Collection contains travel ephemera, journals, and scrapbooks related to the early 20th century travels of Florence and Bernard Ewer around the world.

The Norman Filman Collection consists of papers saved by Old China Hand Norman Filman, mostly consisting of materials related to his uncle J. Arthur Duff and Old China Hands reunions. Materials in the collection include correspondence, news clippings, essays, a family tree, and audiovisual materials on China.

The Fine Press Prints and Broadsides Collection consists of broadsides, book prospectuses and other printed ephemera sent to the library from various fine art printing presses and printers in the United States.

The Flagellation Collection consists of pamphlets, paperbacks, periodicals, and photographs on spanking, caning, and whipping. Some titles have prices penciled on the cover or flyleaf.
