Mahala E. Emler Diary Collection

Abstract

Mahala E. Emler, of Coshocton and Cambridge, Ohio, kept a diary from 1943 to 1967 in which she describes her daily routines, events, marriages, births, her local community, and events of national significance including the conclusion of World War II and the Kennedy assassination. Entries are relatively brief, written in a set of five-year diaries. Though she occasionally missed a day for hospital visits and other exceptional events, she was a fairly consistent diarist.
