Lillian Noce Travel Scrapbook Collection

Abstract

This collection contains two travel scrapbooks compiled by Lillian Noce of Denver, Colorado. The scrapbooks document her trip to Japan as a Delegate for the World Federation of Education Associations (WFEA) World Conference in 1937, and the associated tour of the Philippines, China, and Japan.

Abstract Private Ellwood C. Noll, Sr. served in the United States Army during World War II. Noll was from Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania. Noll married Geraldine L. "Gully" Noll (née Carpenter) in October of 1943. The Corporal Joseph Nykiel World War II Correspondence Collection is comprised of handwritten letters, v-mail, and greeting cards, primarily from Nykiel to his mother in Hudson, Pennsylvania. Corporal Joseph Nykiel served in the U.S. Marines Corps in Company C, 4th Pioneer Battalion, 4th Marine Division. Nykiel writes about his training, service in Japan, and notes about the letters he’s received and sent to others.
