The Corporal Joseph Nykiel World War II Correspondence Collection is comprised of handwritten letters, v-mail, and greeting cards, primarily from Nykiel to his mother in Hudson, Pennsylvania. Corporal Joseph Nykiel served in the U.S. Marines Corps in Company C, 4th Pioneer Battalion, 4th Marine Division. Nykiel writes about his training, service in Japan, and notes about the letters he’s received and sent to others.
