The Los Angeles Department of Health Publications Collection consists of publications produced by the Los Angeles Board of Health between 1909 and 1943. The collection consists of bulletins, booklets, reports, and flyers intended to disseminate public health information to the residents of Los Angeles.

This collection consists of three articles from 1933 published in the Los Angeles Record as part of a series written by Rodney Dutcher called “Heroes of Health.” In the series, Dutcher sought to illuminate the efforts of the United States Public Health Service to combat infectious diseases in America, with each article focusing on the story of a particular disease, including parrot fever (psittacosis), tularemia, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

The Los Angeles School Library Association (LASLA) was established in 1914 as one of the earliest professional organizations dedicated to school librarianship in the United States. Its founding members held librarian positions with the Los Angeles City School District and helped form the California School Library Association. The collection predominantly consists of meeting materials and correspondence outlining LASLA's activities from 1915-1998.

The Los Angeles Weather Station Logbooks journal the administrative records of the station. These include names and schedules of meteorologist and observers, equipment, inspections, and of course weather conditions for the period October 21, 1905 to June 20, 1938.

The Los Feliz Improvement Association was formed in 1922 to represent the homeowners of the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. The association worked to protect historic trees and homes, and to prevent developments they felt would harm the upscale residential feel of the neighborhood. Much of the collection deals with fights against zoning changes that would have allowed construction of unsightly walls or that would have allowed commercial development.

Lotus H. Loudon was a newspaper publisher and member of the board of directors and paroles of the California Institution for Women at Tehachapi in the 1930s and early 1940s. The Lotus H. Loudon Collection documents his work in this capacity and the work of parole officer Emily D. Latham through correspondence and reports.

Millicent Farrington Lowry, also known as Mrs. R.B. Lowry, lived in Niagara Falls, New York. This diary documents her life on the homefront from 1943 through 1947. Lowry recorded daily activities covering rationing, comments on the war, meals, errands, the weather, and what was happening with her family members.
